It has been more than 500 years since The Great Dragon War. The dragons have abandoned the lands of the Five Realms. The Sixth Realm of the Mermaids having long since closed off their realm and mostly withdrawn from interacting with the other six Realms. Fairykind has hidden away from the world of Tirnanng behind an enchanted maze of a forest. The Seventh Realm of the Dragons is closed off to all but dragonkind. A single port in the midst of the Dragons Sea remains open, but the other realms are highly restricted there. The true ArdRgh, ArdBanrgh, and most of the Royal Family were killed by Dragonsbane during the war. A poison that kills dragons made by the Bloodtraitor Constantine of the Chalcedony dragon clan. A single egg of the Royal Family survived. The egg of the ArdPrionsa, heir to thrones of Avalon and Tirnanng. But what use is that? Avalon fell at the hands of the traitor Constantine and his surprise attack with the aid of the Witches Council. The egg had disappeared, and many believed it had fallen to the same fate as the rest of the Royal Family. The Tale of the Lost Rgh was just a children's bedtime story, now. The Witches Council now controlled most of the other Four Realms.
In theory the Five Realms were still independent and ruled by their own Rgh and Banrgh. No one dared to cross the Witches Council, nor defy a request from them. The Council had spies and assassins everywhere. A rebel army lived within the Witches Realm and did what they could to disrupt the plans of the Council. Which was not much. Brigid, the Foundling, was aware of these things, or she should have been, having been educated by the Wizardess Deirdre. But Brigid, as ward of Deirdre, lived in the remote lands near the Forbidden Forest in Deirdre's hidden Workshop, far away from civilization and the cities of the Witches Realm in which they lived. Brigid wanted only to adventure and practice her witchcraft. History and politics were of little concern their remote home. Brigid was soon to be coming of age and become a full-fledged witch. After which she hoped to attend the Witches Academy in Capital City of the Witches Realm, and earn her Wizardess rings.
All of that was about to change, when Brigid came upon someone she had not expected. Who would have expected to have a wounded dragon fall from the sky, only to land in the Forbidden Forest? Dragons had not been seen in the Five Realms in more than 400 years. Healing a dragon would not endear Brigid to the Witches Council, nor to the army, spies, and assassins of the Witches Council. Brigid considered none of these things when she came upon the wounded dragon. Her only thought was what a marvelous creature this was, and what a shame it would be to let it die. So, naturally Brigid set out to heal this poor little dragon child. Little, for a dragon that is. A decision that would change her entire world.
Dwyer, B. Jac Ó.: -
B. Jac Ó Dwyer is new to the field of being an author. When not contemplating World Domination, or studying Irish Paleography, Jac likes to write, or rather type. Being bored of writing code they (Jac and the voices in their head;) ) took up writing stories. The first three now published and two on the way.
B. Jac hopes some others enjoy these stories. Come and enjoy the funny craziness of these mis-adventurers.
