One minute he's trying to avoid school bullies, and the next he's fleeing the calculated reach of Agent K and Aether Dynamics. This trillion-dollar tech giant has been failing to stabilize time travel for years, and they've finally tracked their "borrowed" equipment to Milo's basement. With the help of his quick-thinking friend Sarah and the Aether-Vanguard 01-a matte-black, EMP-proof mobile lab-Milo prepares to jump into the safety of the past.
However, as they initiate the sequence, a catastrophic glitch in the harmonic alignment shatters their intended coordinates. Instead of the dusty marble of history books, they emerge in a parallel-universe version of Rome in 80 CE-a city defined by a reality that shouldn't exist. This is an Imperial superpower powered by steam, mercury-vapor cells, and glowing Flux-conduits, where the Colosseum serves as a massive high-frequency energy hub guarded by sapphire-skinned Volox Sentinels and iron-clad mechs.
To find their way home and prevent the timeline from shattering, Milo and Sarah must navigate this twisted landscape to reclaim lost relics of the "Old Architects." Their journey pits them against the lethal Tunnel-Hunter automaton within the labyrinthine sewers and forces them to strike a desperate bargain with the Beast of the Third Tier, a massive, obsidian-scaled chimera that holds the secrets of the Roman underground.
As the Roman grid begins to fracture under the weight of corporate interference, Milo realizes that the survival of the past and the future depends on a single, perfect note held at exactly 88.0 degrees. In a world where history is being rewritten in real-time, physics is no longer a classroom subject-it's a contact sport. Milo Sparks is the only one who knows the frequency to save it all, provided he can hold the connection long enough to write a better song for the world.
