This new version of Charles Dickens's classic tale has been carefully, lovingly, and respectfully crafted by the author and academic Dr Daniel K. Fletcher to inspire young readers to immerse themselves in the spirit and imagination of England's greatest-ever writer.

Fletcher's revision is possibly the first Young Adult version of the Carol available on the market. There have been countless children's versions of the Carol released, but these have almost always shortened and simplified the story, removing much of the powerful description and depth of meaning from Dickens's original text. Fletcher's re-telling is aimed at more mature young readers who are ready to begin exploring Dickens's story in all its original complexity.

Fletcher keeps and explores Dickens's key themes of poverty, inequality and personal growth as he works his way through the text, staying true to Dickens's voice and passion for his subject matter. At the same time, Fletcher makes every line as accessible as possible, so that younger readers are supported in rising to understand Dickens's mature ideas. The end result is a highly readable version of a timeless Christmas story, told in twelve easily digestible Parts, in honour of the twelve days of Christmas.

Dr Daniel K. Fletcher holds a PhD in Sociology from Keele University. He is the author of the research monograph, The Cultural Contradictions of Anti-Capitalism, published by Routledge. Alongside his work as a teaching assistant, he continues to write and research independently from Staffordshire, England.
