Approach of the Book The present book has been designed keeping in mind some of the limitations of the existing Indian books in the market. The book has been designed as a textbook for B.A. (Hons.) in Economics and B.Com. (Hons.). A condensed course within the complete book would be equally suitable for B.A. (Pass), B.Com. (Pass), and MBA programmes. The book follows UGC syllabus or curriculum. So, all universities/colleges following UGC curriculum will find it appropriate as a textbook. Special Features of the Book • Separate analysis of macroeconomic ratios—a very important subject in macroeconomics. • Separate analysis of physical policy. • Separate analysis of macroeconomic environment and business—interrelations and interactions. • Plenty of examples/illustrations from the Indian economy—this differentiates the book from foreign books which lack the Indian context. • Analysis of subjects (in chapters) is lucid (student friendly), precise, and focused, avoiding unnecessary elaborations/repetitions. • Macroeconomic database and sources—mention sources and forms of official statistics for various macroeconomic variables or indicators. • ‘Glossary’ at the end of the book, for understanding various terms used in the text.

Dr. A. Nag is currently teaching Macroeconomic course as a visiting/guest faculty at various institutes including Western International University, Arizona, USA. He has extensive experience in teaching Economics, particularly Macroeconomics, to students of Economics and Management studies at the postgraduate level. He has taught Macroeconomics in different capacities at a number of management and technology institutes. Prominent among these are the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani (as an Assistant Professor of Economics) and the Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur (as an Associate Professor). Dr. Nag’s book Macroeconomics for Management Students (Third Revised Edition), Atlantic Publishers, 2019, is used as a textbook in many management institutes.
