About The Book

The book is a compilation of insights on management practices in industries observed, conceived and practiced in India and abroad. It covers management of machines, materials and men. Some other equally important topics on the fringe, like management of productivity, management of infrastructure and waste management have also been covered in the book. About The Author

A.B. Kar obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and did post-graduation from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. He worked with Caterpillar Tractor Company, UK and Larsen & Toubro Ltd., India. He was Adjunct Professor with IIT, Kharagpur in Maintenance Engineering & Management for a full Semester, teaching postgraduate students. Kar was actively associated with professional bodies in the UK, USA and India during his tenure with Larsen & Toubro Ltd. He visited many countries on business and for presentation of papers in conferences. He retired from active service during 2000 and took to writing.
