The Lasting Legacies of Mulk Raj Anand: A Tribute foregrounds Anand the writer, Anand the man, Anand the thinker and Anand the iconoclast. This collection of articles highlights the characteristics of Anand’s writings and also presents significant biographical features of Anand’s life that hold significance in the study of his works. The book is divided into two sections—“Memories” and “Deliberations”. The first section comprises invaluable recollections by Anand’s close associates which provide an insight into the persona of the great genius. The second section explores and analyses various works of Anand such as novels, short stories and letters. Some studies on his individual novels are very useful as they are prescribed in various universities and colleges in India. The book is an amalgam of critical and biographical features of Anand’s works as it comprises contributions from renowned scholars and well known critics of Indian English Studies. Some of them are his close associates, while a few of the contributors belong to the budding generation of talent of different universities and colleges in India. The book, which is novel in content and compilation and holistic in approach, will be an essential reading for teachers, students and researchers in Indian Writing in English and particularly those studying Mulk Raj Anand.

Md. Rizwan Khan, Ph.D., a Reader in the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, has been teaching for 19 years. He has taught at Nizwa in Oman and at Abha in KSA. He has authored two books: Policy and Provision for ESL in India’s Higher Education and Study Skills. He is the editor of a biannual journal Readings, published from Aligarh. Dr. Khan has worked on a project of Hornby Trust, London. He has presented many papers at various national and international forums on ELT, Drama, Indian Poetics, Indian Writing in English and Diaspora. Besides, he has contributed articles in journals of national and international repute.
