About The Author

Pratima Prasad received her doctorate from Patna University, Patna in 2008. She had completed her graduation and post-graduation in English literature from the same university. Her areas of interest are Nigerian literature, Indian English and American literature. During her childhood, Pratima Prasad had got ample opportunities to watch village life in rural and tribal areas of Bihar. The caste-class conflicts, other social issues and problems of the tribal people which came to her notice have helped her in understanding the works of Indian and Nigerian women writers as she finds striking similarities between the two societies.
