Die zahlreiche Abschriften dieses mittelalterlichen Textes, die in unterschiedlichen Redaktionen zu finden sind, weisen auf seine Popularität. Der zu bearbeitende Text ist ein Reisebericht des Abtes Daniil, der in den Jahren 1106 -1108 eine Reise nach Palästina unternahm. Das Werk erinnert an Ausführungen eines Reiseführers, ist darüber hinaus aber noch durch zahlreiche narratorische Elemente und lyrische Einspielungen des Autors bereichert. In der wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung gilt "Chozdene" als fundierte Quelle zur Untersuchung der russischen Literaurgeschichte, sei es literarischer, sei es sprachwissenschaftlicher Qualität. Der Schwerpunkt der vorliegenden Untersuchung liegt in der sprachwissenschaftlichen Analyse, die in Bezug auf ausgewählte sprachwissenschaftliche Aspekte durchgeführt werden soll. Dies sind im Einzelnen einige Aspekte des Lautwandels, die Pronomen und die Längenma e. Die ausgewählten Beispiele vermitteln einen Einblick in die dieser Arbeit zugrunde liegenden Abschrift des Reiseberichts Daniils. Zu einem besseren Verständnis werden ergänzend grundlegende Angaben zur altrussischen Literatur und zum Genre des Textes geliefert.
