Kashkaeva, Aijan: - "Aijan is a British author with Kyrgyz roots, best known for her enchanting children's book series Maxat the Magician. Inspired by her young son and the breathtaking landscapes of Kyrgyzstan-often called "the Switzerland of Central Asia"-Aijan brings together fantasy, adventure, and folklore in a way that captivates readers of all ages. She began writing stories at the age of seven, though she was a quiet child who barely spoke until she was three. Her aunt once joked, "She must have been thinking a lot and observing the world!" Over the years, Aijan's creative voice grew stronger. Her school stories were noticed by her literature teacher, and as a teenager and university student, she continued to write-this time exploring philosophy, psychology, and life's everyday magic through allegorical tales with animals and humor.
