She holds a B.A. from Northern Illinois University and an M.A. from The University of Chicago. Young also earned a certificate from the Teacher Education Program at The Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis, focusing on the emotional aspects of learning. Young believes that writing is a critical learning tool and that learning shapes our lives.
