Ziel dieses Kapitel ist es, dem Leser den aktuellen Stand der Technologie sowie die Stärken und Schwächen der jeweiligen Druckverfahren zu vermitteln. Des Weiteren werden die generellen Vorteile der 3D-Drucktechnologie dargestellt und die aktuellen sowie zukünftigen Möglichkeiten in ausgewählten Branchen erläutert. Abschlie end werden aktuelle Probleme der Technologie behandelt. Damit sollen dem Leser die vielfältigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten der Technologie aufgezeigt werden. Sowohl bei den Anwendungsbeispielen und Druckverfahren als auch bei den aktuellen Problemen der Technologie beschränken sich die in den vorliegenden Studienarbeit vorgestellten Themen aufgrund des inhaltlichen Umfangs auf ausgewählte Bereiche. Die Studienarbeit endet mit einem Fazit im fünften Kapitel.
