This book is a significant resource for teachers, counselors, and youth workers who are interested in an innovative approach to character development for adolescents. In an effort to address the goals of character education while considering the unique developmental needs and abilities of adolescents, a specific model is presented that combines components of character education with structured play therapy activities. This book integrates research that scholars can appreciate while also including specific techniques that practitioners can implement. Prepare to become energized in your efforts with youth as you consider an action-oriented approach that allows adolescents to experience and process 25 different character traits with 45 distinct methods. With such a comprehensive approach, attention is focused on needs relating to prevention and growth as well as needs relating to intervention and remediation. In addition to addressing general character traits such as honesty and courtesy, other specific areas such as bullying and aggression are also addressed as participants progress through the lessons. This book presents a comprehensive approach to character education that focuses on experiencing and processing character components in a way that will be meaningful and memorable to participants.
