Esta obra resulta da minha dissertação, fruto do programa de Mestrado em Direito Negocial da Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL). O objetivo deste livro trata-se de investigar a (in)compatibilidade dos smart contracts à luz da teoria do Direito Negocial. Indagando se os mesmos se tratam de negócios jurídicos sui generis ou de uma evolução ao contrato propriamente dito.
Cabe esclarecer que os smart contracts (em tradução literal, contratos inteligentes) na realidade não são tão inteligentes como o nome infere, tratando-se de códigos de computador que se utilizam de silogismos hipotéticos em sua programação para criar e auto executar acordos de vontades.
Uma das grandes inovações da presente obra trata-se da classificação dos smart contracts em smart contracts centralizados e smart contracts descentralizados. Tal classificação possibilita ao leitor a percepção de que nem todo smart contract é igual ao outro, tanto em sua compreensão tecnológica quanto em seus possíveis efeitos jurídicos.
Nesse contexto, o livro traz um panorama completo quanto ao vislumbre do smart contract e sua (in)compatibilidade à luz da teoria do Direito Negocial, utilizando-se de conhecimentos extremamente atuais de autores contemporâneos, bem como mantendo uma base jurídica sólida, por meio de autores clássicos consagrados na doutrina.
