This book was written to help women and men like me who have lived through adverse childhoods and developed traits that are preventing them from progressing in life. It discusses root causes of behaviors that I developed, how to recognize and work on past trauma, the importance of self-love and how it can save us from most of the hardships we face in platonic relationships, love, and our professional lives.

This book exposes the hidden truth behind family and how unconditional love and loyalty can be detrimental to one's own well-being. This is a story of a young girl who was never protected from the monsters surrounding her, and in turn sought out the same monsters in different bodies for love and protection.

This is my journey from abused and neglected little girl to the strong, spiritual, empowered woman I am today. I did not let adversity keep me from succeeding. It was hard, and I had to fight the entire way, but I made it to the other side. There was no guidebook, just my trust in God, my own strength, and my desire to be something more.

My hope is that this book lands in the hands of women and men who have never felt genuine love from the family they were born into, women and men who have developed behaviors they deem shameful due to the abuse they had to endure as children, and women and men who found themselves in abusive relationships looking for the love, respect, and protection they didn't receive as children.

I hope this book will help expose the men and women who are disguised as loving spouses, helpful sitters, and even family members who groom and prey on innocent children for their own depraved gratification and benefit.

Walters, Dawn M.: - I was raised in a family void of morals. As long as there was money at the end of any situation, you were good in their book. I delved into a life of sex, money, and self-deprecation. The guidance I received as a child led me into a twenty-two-year marriage that I knew was wrong from the start, but provided stability. It would take me many years to unlearn everything I was taught and re-teach myself the morals, values, and standards that I wanted for myself. This put me on a path of self-realization, self-love, and spirituality.
