This book is about growing up in London during the World War II, mandatory army service for two years in Germany after the war, obtaining a degree in engineering and within six months, marrying, and emigrating to Canada on a freighter. After three years of working our way across Canada & settling in Vancouver, producing two children and, finding work slowed down, we immigrated to Australia for fourteen months before returning to Vancouver. Our philosophy has always been to get on with life with our "Do it Soon- Do it Now" which created an interesting mix of social and work experiences in over 35 countries.

Hill, Patrick: - As a qualified civil engineer I have worked and sought work for our staff in south America, southeast Asia, south Africa, Europe, USA, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Thailand and many other places. I have worked in the pulp and paper, mining and bulk transportation business's. Prior to retiring my bidding team in south Africa out-bid Soros Engineers, NY., for a 3-year 300m$ bulk transportation project. I personally do not like hanging around and like to get on with projects whether they are for work or personal projects. I built our 42ft boat in just under a remarkable 3 years while I was technically working 2000 hours each year. I have given many talks of my travels and work to technical groups, libraries, cruise ships, clubs and have self-published many of my books.
