A Fellow of the British Academy, he co-founded the Society of Public Teachers of Law. Jenks edited A Digest of English Civil Law and authored influential works like A Short History of English Law and The Myth of Magna Carta, which challenged conventional historical views. His writings combined legal precision with historical insight, shaping modern understandings of English legal development.
