Growing up in Accomack County, Virginia was an unforgettable experience for both authors, Maxcine Phyllis Selby Collier and Gregory Vincent Selby. This book recounts some of those experiences -- some true, some almost true and most completely fabricated. Please note that the character resemblance to any living or deceased person, except the authors themselves, their parents and paternal grandfather is completed coincidental and definitely not intentional. This initial book is really the first in a series (yet to be completed) detailing the lives of the two precocious siblings, George Franklin Shelly and Phyllis Alice Shelly. Many adventures are certain to follow, as these two adolescents grow older and a little wiser (perhaps).

Maxcine Phyllis Selby Collier, a retired Philadelphia school administrator, resides in Ambler, Pennsylvania. Her first published work, "The Continuing Call," was written when she was a senior at Mary N. Smith High School in Accomac, Virginia and appears in the book, Young America Speaks. She was the editor of the undergraduate newspaper, the Hampton Script, during her senior year at Hampton Institute (now Hampton University). Maxcine, who has a passion for writing, has had several articles published in various newspapers, as well. Another dream on her "bucket list" has been achieved in the co-authoring of this first book of fiction with her brother, Dr. Gregory Vincent Selby. She is an ordained minister and eventually plans to pursue a doctorate in theology. Maxcine cherishes being a loving wife to Rev. Robert Collier, Sr.; a caring mother to two adult sons, Robert "Bobby" and Damond; and a doting grandmother to grandson, Nahmir. Gregory Vincent Selby was born in Delaware and attended public schools in Accomack County, Virginia, including T. C. Walker Elementary and Mary N. Smith High. Greg and his wife, Barbara, reside in Hampton, VA, and have three adult sons: Gregory II (Gregory III), Gevell (Amaya), and Gerron. He has earned several degrees: Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering, Psychology, and Theology; Masters in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; and Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He worked for NASA for 12 years (Wallops Flight Center for 9 yrs), taught at Hampton University for one year, and is presently a Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Old Dominion University (29 yrs). He has previously published a book of poetry, In His Image, and is a staff writer for a newspaper, Diversity Times. He also serves as a minister for churches of Christ.
