About The Author

Lillian Reider has worked in various fields of special education for over thirty years. She has bachelor's degrees in Spanish, liberal arts, and psychology as well as a master's degree in special education. Reider taught Spanish, general English, business, and college-preparatory English classes.

Additionally, she was an instructor at Head Start, Huntington, and Lyman Learning Center and has volunteered at churches to babysit and tutor children in autistic programs.

Being dyslexic herself, Reider personally relates to many of the challenges her students face. She's used her experiences both as a struggling student and as a distinguished educator as motivation for this guide. Her hope is that teachers and parents will benefit from these innovative approaches and be inspired to discover the light inside every child.
