Questo studio intende contribuire a una migliore comprensione dei problemi legati all'approvvigionamento idrico alla luce dell'evoluzione demografica nel distretto di Issaba. L'approccio metodologico utilizzato prevede la raccolta di dati presso 317 famiglie, l'elaborazione dei dati e l'analisi dei risultati con il modello PEIR. I risultati mostrano che il distretto di Issaba sta vivendo una forte crescita demografica dovuta all'incremento naturale. Questa evoluzione non � proporzionale alla disponibilit� di fonti di approvvigionamento di acqua potabile. I pozzi (BF) costituiscono la principale fonte di approvvigionamento di acqua potabile. I principali ostacoli riscontrati nell'accesso all'acqua potabile sono legati alla distanza e all'insufficienza delle infrastrutture idriche. Inoltre, le acque dei pozzi sono soggette a inquinamento fisico-chimico e batteriologico. Il profilo epidemiologico � caratterizzato da un'elevata incidenza di malattie idriche. Questa ricerca apre la strada a una riflessione pi� generale sulla necessit� di elaborare un meccanismo di monitoraggio e pianificazione.
