Mara, a woman with a mysterious past and a connection to the Maya civilization, realizes a truth that many others seem to be able to ignore: We must cherish and protect what we have before is too late. Driven to prevent global warming and the extinction of many of Earth's species, Mara feels drawn to return to Palenque, Mexico-a place that holds special memories from her past. Once there, she regains possession of a once lost crystal from the planet Arganea, which provides her with special mental and healing powers. These help her to reconnect with old friends from Arganea, who are travelling back to Earth to escape the destruction of their own planet as their sun turns into a white dwarf.

After many adventure through the galaxies, Ruth, Daniel and Daniel's parents make it to Earth, carrying several more of their planet's special crystals. There they reunite with Mara, her husband, and several new friends, including TJ, a jaguar that has formed a special connection to Mara. Together, this group works to prevent climate change and change attitudes and policies about conservation. While their work takes them around the world to places such as Chile, Alaska, and Sault Ste Marie in Northern Ontario, they also face many challenges. These include dangerous poachers, kidnappers, and even advanced artificial intelligence that might be the ultimate threat to-or saviour of-humankind.

Bonenfant, E. B.: - Author Eleanor Bonenfant's own concerns as an environmentalist, as well as her love of science fiction, inspired her to write Adventures among the Galaxies and the Evolution of AI, which is the exciting standalone sequel to Adventures among the Maya and the Secret of the Crystal Amulet (2022). Eleanor, who is an avid reader, has taken several creative writing courses and enjoys gardening and home decorating. She has also studied and taught music and has worked for over four decades as a church organist and choir director.

Eleanor lives in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, a location that she has lovingly worked into her latest novel. She has two grown sons, grandchildren, and two loving and loyal cats.
