In recent years, the world has entered a transformative digital era in which artificial intelligence (AI) has become both a catalyst for innovation and a disruptive force reshaping the nature of crime. As societies grow increasingly dependent on intelligent systems, from autonomous decision-making tools to generative models capable of producing synthetic texts, images, and identities, the boundaries between human agency, machine autonomy, and legal responsibility have blurred more than ever before. Cybercrime, once limited to acts of unauthorized access, fraud, and digital vandalism, has evolved into a complex ecosystem powered by adaptive algorithms, predictive analytics, and machine-generated deception. The emergence of AI-driven threats has not only expanded the scale and sophistication of attacks but has challenged the very foundations of criminal law, investigation procedures, and international cooperation. AI-Driven Cybercrime and Legal Responses at National and Global Levels examines how AI redefines traditional legal concepts, transforms the modus operandi of cybercriminals, and exposes structural gaps in national and international legal frameworks. Drawing on comparative legislation, international conventions, case studies, and state-of-the-art research in computer science, this book explores how criminal liability can be attributed when offenses are partially or wholly executed by autonomous systems; how evidence can be gathered when malicious outputs leave no traditional traces of human intent; and how states can cooperate to address offenses that transcend borders and jurisdictions. Covering topics such as algorithmic exploitation techniques, digital terrorism, and malware, this book is a critical academic resource for graduate and doctoral students, legal practitioners, judges, law enforcement authorities, cybersecurity professionals, policymakers, and more.
