The purpose of this volume of the Aids to Navigation Manual is to provide the technical information needed to establish and maintain the Short Range Aids to Navigation System of the United States. This information establishes, in measurable terms, those technical objectives and standards necessary for Aids to Navigation equipment to function to its design capability and reliability.
