His education was obtained from the Argentinean Air Force (Aeronautics Technician), Pasadena City College, (Associate Degree Mechanical Design), National University (Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance Management), (Masters in Education), (Masters in International Business), and Southern California University for Professional Studies, (Doctor in Engineering and Technology Management). Dr. Atkins has twenty years experience in the aviation field, ten of which have been in aviation education field. He held several positions as Airframe inspector trainee under FAR's Part 121, FBO Manager, Human Resources Manager, Pilot Instructor and Maintenance Instructor under FAR's Part 141. He completed several courses in CRM (Cockpit Resource Management) with Flight Safety International and American Airlines.
