Fast jeder glaubt, zu diesem Thema etwas sagen zu können; seien es Menschen aus dem Alltag, Politiker, Personen aus den Medien oder aus der Fachwelt. Auch die aktuelle Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel hat sich dahingehend mehrfach geäu ert: "Ich halte das Thema Integration für ein wirkliches Schlüsselthema der Zukunftsfähigkeit Deutschlands"1. In Deutschland hat sich Integration in den letzten Jahrzehnten zum einem der Themen überhaupt entwickelt, das in naher Zukunft vorerst kein Ende findet. Im Visier stehen dabei Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund, oftmals Türken, weil sie die optisch auffälligste, am schlechtesten gebildete, am wenigsten integrierte und auch von der Anzahl her die Grö te Gruppe stellen. Die Superlativen um diese Gruppe häufen sich; mit Tendenz in die negative Richtung, wobei u.a. auch arabische Mitbürger von dieser Stigmatisierung betroffen sind. Eine Vielzahl von Studien und Publikationen arbeiten mit Daten vorwiegend aus Westdeutschland bzw. westdeutschen Bundesländer und weist darauf hin, welche gesellschaftlichen und auch wissenschaftliche Probleme existieren. PISA fällt als Stichwort; in der Öffentlichkeit der Inbegriff für die Bildungssituation und Differenzen innerhalb Deutschland und im internationalen Vergleich. Der Blick auf Ostdeutschland wird häufig au en vor gelassen, wenn dann, mit dem Hinweis auf die geringe Anzahl von Kindern mit Migrationshintergrund. Dabei besuchen über 20.000 ausländische Kinder und Jugendliche die Schulen in Ostdeutschland und lassen damit durchaus stichhaltige Schlussfolgerungen zu.
