Indem sich die Akute Porphyrie auf Grund des ihr eigenen intcrmittierenden Verlaufes, sowohl generell als auch individuell, in sehr unterschiedlicher Auspragung hinter der "Maske" einer internen, psychischen und gar nicht so selten neurologi- schen Symptomatik verbergen kann, weist sie jedoch mit der of\: gleichfalls als vollig "ratse1haJaes Krankheitsgeschehen" imponierenden Periarteriitis nodosa in ihrem klinischen Erscheinungsbild eine so frappierende Ahnlichkeit auf, daB die Poly- symptomatologie als das Charakteristikum und differentialdiagnostische Kriterium beider Krankheiten gelten kann.
