Einleitung Technik ist ein fester Bestandteil des Alltages jedes Menschen im 21. Jahrhundert, das wir in allen Lebensbereichen antreffen. Technologische Innovationen unterstützten den Menschen bei der Vereinfachung und der Ermöglichung von Fertigkeiten. Dennoch ist die Einführung neuer Technologien immer mit einem gewissen (entwicklungstechnischen und finanziellen) Risiko behaftet. Aus der Sicht der Entwickler bieten technologische Innovationen immer einen gewissen Fortschritt (Weiterentwicklung einer vorangegangen Technik) bzw. Nutzen (z.B. Erleichterung einer Fertigkeit, Effizienz, Qualität), den der potentielle Konsument annehmen kann aber auch ablehnen kann. Die Welt scheint sich in Technikfreunden und Technikfeinden zu teilen. Trotz der seit den siebziger Jahren immer wieder aufflammende öffentliche Technikakzeptanzdebatten, gehört die wissenschaftliche Erfassung der Technikakzeptanz dennoch zu den Erscheinungen - im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Disziplinen der Naturwissenschaften - die kein spezielles Instrument zu einer unmittelbaren und direkten Messung besitzt. Gerade weil der Begriff Technik vielseitig ist und vermutlich nicht vielseitiger sein kann, benötigt man interdisziplinäre Methoden aus der Sozialforschung, Meinungsforschung und Marktforschung um den Grad der Akzeptanz von Technik in der Gesellschaft zu erheben. Für die Ermittlung der Technikeinstellung und Technikakzeptanz sind daher geeignete Indikatoren erforderlich, die auf einem mittelbaren und indirekten Weg zu repräsentativen Ergebnissen führen. 2.
