"The Alchemy of Foods and Herbs: Course 3 from "Beet the Beetnik to Buckley the Buckwheat" is part of a 15 Course Series that started with Course 1: "The Alchemy of the 5 Elements" as part of "The Legend of the Beet Brothers" as they study in the "College of Alchemy for Plants" from the 5 Elements to learn how to heal humans as well as the 5 senses. After graduating they began their journey around the globe interviewing plants and trees from Abbie the Abuta to Zen the Zucchini" Course 2: "The Alchemy of Foods and Herbs" starts with Abbie the Abuta and goes to Beezy the Bee Pollen Queen" covering about 55 plants and herbs. Course 3: starts with the Beet Brothers and goes to Buckley the Buckwheat" covering about 40 herbs and trees. There will be over 600 herbs covered throughout the 15 courses. Each course is in a story version of adventures as they interview each plant and tree with story, humor and poetry. Each course covers recipes of facial and body supplies, household needs, culinary and medicinal recipes and numerous charts on properties from absorbents to zymotics and uses from abscesses to zygomycosis. It also details the chemistry and nutrients within the charts from acetates to zinc covering hundreds of chemical constituents and nutrients in each course, puzzles, quizzes, charts on Ayurveda, 5 elements, Chakra's and more.

Osalina Berman M.H. began her practice in the healing arts in 1979 in Maui Hawaii. She received a degree from the "Emerson College of Herbology" in 1981 after studying with numerous world known Doctors and Healers and spending 2 years in a wilderness valley living off wild herbs and fruits. She published her first e-book in 2007 "Amazon Herbs from A - Z". and then "The Holistic Medicine Chart Book" In 2012. This is Osalina's 5th published book as part of a 15 Course series with over 600 herbs she will be covering. Her ideas behind this series is to teach the importance of healing the Earth along with the humans, plants and animals. She uses humor, poetry and story in a left/right brain format for easier memorization instead of the normal ordinary text. This allows the imagination to enliven the mind with colorful herbal characters teaching their many uses to young people and young spirited adults who enjoy a healthy sense of humor as a way to learn new things. Osalina first began writing as part of a Theater Troupe called the "Angels of Light" in 1971 with Allen Ginsburg helping to write scripts for Planetary Healing" using satire as a way to teach. She was also a dancer and performer. This series is combining her skills of using satire and imaginative story; with years of research and practice as a herbalist and holistic health practitioner to teach. These courses teach Anatomy, Physiology, Herbology, Ayurveda, 5 Elements, Chakra's, Nutrition, Cooking, Crafts and knowledge of many places around the world through stories, recipes and charts. It even includes puzzles and quizzes and your sure to get many belly laughs to boot. You could say "The diet to enlightenment is a "Peanut Buddha Sandwich" but in this case you'll also learn how to make Almond Buddha Sandwiches as well as flower butters and oils with Arty the Artichoke Artist teaching you how to make paint brushes with artichoke leaves while he heals the liver with his leaves and gets a bit silly with his Silymarin. Or Calenda the Calendula as she teaches her many uses while also having a time traveling convention with the lords of time for the Calendar year with her buddy Tianna the Timely Thyme Fairy as they dance and feast and teach humans how to heal each other and their Planet Earth.
