'An Introduction to Radiation Protection' is a comprehensive account of the nature of the hazards presented by ionizing radiation and the methods of protection. The most recent ICRP recommendations are included, the section on legistlation has been expanded to emphasize European and International requirements in addition to those of the UK, while the chapter on radiological emergencies has been rewritten to highlight international developments arising from the Chernobyl accident. These in conjunction with a number of other important changes, will ensure the continuing value of the text as a comprehensive introduction to this field, and it will remain essential reading for those working in nuclear power, nuclear medicine, and in other industries requiring an involvement with radiation.
