Cette étude traite des technologies radio et de la fibre optique dans la communauté quilombola d'Umarizal. Les deux technologies présentes chez le fournisseur d'accès à Internet Conect_A&D de la communauté sont analysées. L'objectif général était d'analyser les technologies de la radio et de la fibre optique utilisées par le fournisseur d'accès à Internet de la communauté quilombo d'Umarizal, dans la province de Baião. Le but était d'obtenir des données comparatives entre les deux technologies, en utilisant une méthodologie d'étude sur le terrain avec une approche qualitative. Pour ce faire, des applications et des logiciels spécifiques ont été utilisés, ainsi que d'autres analyses pratiques afin d'atteindre l'objectif général de la recherche. Les résultats obtenus révèlent les différences entre les technologies en termes de vitesse, de stabilité, de coûts, d'avantages et d'inconvénients. Les résultats montrent que si le coût de déploiement de la technologie de la fibre optique est deux fois plus élevé, elle offre un service de meilleure qualité et des bandes passantes plus larges. Cependant, dans la communauté d'Umarizal, la radio se distingue par sa capacité à desservir les utilisateurs là où les conditions de pose de câbles optiques ne sont pas réunies.
