On a small alpaca farm in a pretty little village, this little girl and her teddy reluctantly meet alpacas for the first time. She is fearful of animals and would rather be anywhere else, but the friendly farmer encourages her and teddy to interact with two bottle fed baby alpacas (cria) and gradually she gains her confidence. Educational and endearing this rhyming fully illustrated story book will appeal to young children and early readers, is a pleasure for parents to read and an excellent resource for teachers.

Dell, Joanne Louise: - Joanne Dell lives with her husband James and 3 daughters in a small village in Buckinghamshire, England, where they breed alpacas and rare breed sheep and pigs. Jo and her family chose rural living as a total change from their previous lifestyle, with no background in farming whatsoever! They designed and built an eco off-grid farmhouse and created Abbotts View Farm from 22 acres of grass. Then followed a steep learning curve as they got to grips with breeding and rearing alpacas, sheep and pigs, pygmy goats, ducks, guinea pigs and rabbits. And their RSPCA rescue pony! Though not an open farm, they welcome private visits and Jo was inspired to write this story after observing how children sometimes arrived feeling cautious and anxious of meeting the animals, and left with a smile on their faces and a sense of achievement from touching or feeding them.

Hewitt, Kristian: - Kristian graduated from the Surrey Institute of Art & Design (now UCA) in 2003 with a BA(Hons) in Interior Design and then completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Homerton, University of Cambridge. The opportunity to inspire creativity with children of all ages led him to teach across both Primary and Secondary schools and I he is currently a Headteacher of a primary school in Bedfordshire, UK. In his spare time he enjoys to paint and spend time with his wife Gemma and two children, Toby and Poppy.
