Globalisierung, technologischer und struktureller Wandel bringen Bewegung in Unternehmen und Organisationen. Mehr denn je kommt den Anforderungen an Führungskräften, in Zeiten gravierender und einschneidender Veränderungsprozesse in Wirtschaft, Gesellschaft und Technologie, eine entscheidende Bedeutung zu. Hierbei sind unternehmerisches Handeln in dezentralen Strukturen, globale Orientierung, ein permanenter Veränderungsdruck sowie eine adäquate Mitarbeiterführung die Herausforderungen, die an die Führungskräfte gestellt werden. Schlagwörter wie Beweglichkeit, Lernfähigkeit sowie Innovationsbereitschaft müssen von Führungskräften gelebt werden, um in Zeiten des permanenten Wandels erfolgreich zu sein. Gerade von den Führungskräften erfordert dies ein radikales Umdenken ihrer Einstellung und ihres Verhaltens. Gute Fachkompetenz reicht heutzutage nicht mehr aus, um diesen geänderten Anforderungen an Führung gerecht zu werden. Denn gerade Führungskräfte müssen in der Lage sein, flexibel auf die wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen einzugehen und vorausschauend zu agieren, um diesen sich durch den Strukturwandel ändernden Anforderungen gerecht zu werden.
