Einer der erfolgreichsten Optimierungsalgorithmen ist die Cuckoo-Suche (CS), die zu einem aktiven Forschungsbereich geworden ist, um N-dimensionale und lineare/nichtlineare Optimierungsprobleme mithilfe einfacher mathematischer Prozesse zu lösen. CS hat die Aufmerksamkeit verschiedener Forscher auf sich gezogen, was zur Entstehung zahlreicher Varianten des grundlegenden CS mit verbesserten Leistungsmerkmalen seit 2019 geführt hat.

Nilanjan Dey ist Assistenzprofessor an der Abteilung für Informationstechnologie, Techno International New Town (früher bekannt als Techno India College of Technology), Kolkata, Indien. Er ist Visiting Fellow der University of Reading, UK, Gastprofessor an der Duy Tan University, Vietnam, und war ehrenamtlicher Gastwissenschaftler bei Global Biomedical Technologies Inc. in Kalifornien, USA (2012-2015). Im Jahr 2015 promovierte er an der Jadavpur-Universität.

Er ist der Chefredakteur des International Journal of Ambient Computing and Intelligence, IGI Global. Er ist Mitherausgeber der Reihe Springer Tracts in Nature-Inspired Computing, Springer Nature; Mitherausgeber der Reihe Advances in Ubiquitous Sensing Applications for Healthcare, Elsevier; und Herausgeber der Reihe Computational Intelligence in Engineering Problem Solving and Intelligent Signal Processing and Data Analysis, CRC. Er ist Autor/Herausgeber von mehr als 50 Büchern bei Springer, Elsevier, Wiley und CRC Press und hat mehr als 300 von Fachleuten begutachtete Forschungsarbeiten veröffentlicht.
