Pakistan is under increasing scrutiny, being central to an intense and escalating political and ideological conflict between the West and fundamentalist Islamic organizations. Following the killing of Osama bin Laden and the case of Raymond Davis, an undercover CIA agent who killed two isi agents in Lahore, but was later released due to diplomatic immunity, relations between Washington and Islamabad have become strained, and are at their lowest point for decades. Apocalypse Pakistan poses the question: how did they reach this point and how could they, for more than a decade, pretend to be fighting the same enemy together? More importantly, it examines the future of a relationship that has an important bearing not only in terms of National politics; the consequences of a continued fallout, have a bearing on key international developments, on continued conflict or the possibility of negotiating peace.".
