This book presents a comprehensive framework for moving our industrial age educational system to a system of learning for all. Originally published in 2007 as "Approaching 100% by 2014" it started as an analysis of what it might take to reach the goal set by the United State's No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001. The goal was that schools and school districts that receive federal funding should be able to demonstrate, by 2014, that 100% of students meet minimum competency as measured by annual State assessments. This edition of Approaching 100% carries forward the main theme of the previous edition, but within the context of all that has changed, and is changing in the education domain.

Jim Goodell has provided information-driven process improvement solutions to state education agencies and school districts throughout the United States. He has managed and participated in the development of interactive learning technologies since 1983. Since 1999 he has served as lead architect of school improvement planning and performance management systems and Executive Vice President at the Center for Educational Leadership and Technology. As director and founder of Project BODYWORKS he oversaw the development of an interactive videodisc for hospitalized adolescents. With Merrimack Education Center he built the Superintendent's Workstation. In addition, Mr. Goodell has developed interactive kiosks, tradeshow exhibits, point-of-purchase, and Internet marketing campaigns for clients including Fidelity Investments and Lotus Development as vice president of Sound Image, Inc. and senior programmer/consultant at PixelDance Communications, Inc. He has published books and articles and has made numerous presentations on interactive learning technologies and their impact on student achievement and educational leadership. Mr. Goodell received a B.S. in Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and is a member of the International Association of Software Architects (IASA) and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
