Éste es un manual teórico-práctico forjado por el autor en la experiencia de varios años enseñando el griego del Nuevo Testamento. Los recursos pedagógicos con los que han sido organizadas las 78 unidades de estudio, hacen de este material una herramienta necesaria, dotado de claridad pedagógica y provocadora de un gusto especial por estudiar el idioma. Es una obra en la que se analiza comparativamente los elementos morfológicos y sintácticos de la lengua griega y la española. El autor ha incluido todo lo que considera necesario para un estudiante que incursiona en el proceso de aprendizaje del griego. Es, pues, un manual que invita al estudiante a recordar permanentemente lo aprendido para evitar el riesgo del olvido. Lo que busca el autor es que el estudiante se asegure de no privarse de la experiencia del conocer el Nuevo Testamento desde el idioma original en que fue escrito. Destaca en tal sentido algunos rasgos como la metodología que permite al estudiante - sin apresuramiento - su conocimiento del griego; tanto los ejemplos como el vocabulario usados hacen de esta herramienta entendible para quienes se inician en esta lengua. El objetivo con que el profesor Ernst Walder Gassman presenta tanto el "qué", el "por qué" y el "cómo" del aprendizaje del griego es que el estudiante no sólo sepa reconocer los casos, las formas verbales o determinar la léxica, sino también desarrolle sus capacidades para interpretar el texto bíblico desde el idioma original. De allí la importancia del conocimiento de la sintaxis.

Walder, Ernst: - Ernst Walder es educador de profesión; estudió teología en la Universidad de Basilea (Suiza), ejerció la profesión de educador en Suiza y en Bolivia, fue profesor del Instituto Bíblico Superior de Huánuco y en el Seminario Evangélico de Lima (SEL). Es presidente del programa de Educación Teológica por Extensión (ETE) en el Perú.
