Summary: AQUÍ / HERE (siempre aquí - always here) is a bilingual geo-natural visual sci-fi set in the Occoneechee territory, the founding site of Durham, NC. It is a time travel that shows: the disappearance of the buffalo and the indigenous peoples, the rise of tobacco and slavery, the arrival/emergence of aliens, and urban growth. The persecution of the arrived led them to awaken (like the cicadas), which pushed the new natives to continue their expansion -Up Thus, giving a break for life to return.

Es un viaje en el tiempo que muestra; la desaparición del búfalo y los pueblos indígenas, el auge del tabaco y la esclavitud, la llegada/emergencia de alienígenas, y el crecimiento urbano. Osuba, Rafael a.: - Rafael A. Osuba (1967) Osuba is a visual artist, cultural producer and storyteller. He loves to share memories and stories of his beloved Puerto Rico. As a child he lived in the neighborhood "La Mineral" in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico and he says they are his best childhood memories. His stories are often drawn from his lived experiences and this story, he says, is inspired by one of those defining moments.He is the founder and artistic director of The El Quixote Festival an annual international literary festival that honors the Spanish writer and literary giant Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra and the 400 years of "Don Quixote", two books that changed his life, a dream that he realized in 2015. Osuba has three adult children, Raffi, Gabbi and Leilani. He lives in the city of Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife, best friend and muse Michelle.
Rojas Sotelo, Miguel: - Miguel Rojas Sotelo is a scholar, author, and visual artist working on environmental justice issues and Indigenous cultural sovereignty. He was born in Colombia, Bogotá, and grew up in the mountains of Ubaque, Cundinamarca. He migrated to the U.S. in 2001 and recently became a citizen. He lives with his wife, Dalia, and his children, Joel and Alegría, between Durham and Chapel Hill, NC.Miguel Rojas Sotelo es un académico, autor y artista visual que trabaja en temas de justicia ambiental y soberanía cultural indígena. Nació en Colombia, Bogotá, y creció en las montañas de Ubaque, Cundinamarca. Emigró a los Estados Unidos en 2001 y recientemente obtuvo la ciudadanía. Vive con su esposa, Dalia, y sus hijos, Joel y Alegría, entre Durham y Chapel Hill, Carolina del Norte.
Rojas-Patino, Alegría: - Alegria Rojas-Patino is a 13-year-old Durhamite (of Colombian ancestry) and a student at Phillips Middle School. She loves to collect rocks, shells, and feathers while looking after nature's wonders. She also likes to read, travel, draw, and paint. She lives in Chapel Hill, NC, with her brother Joel and her parents, Dalia and Miguel. She speaks only Spanish at home!Alegría Rojas-Patino es una Durhamita (de la ciudad de Durham de ascendencia colombiana) de 13 años y estudiante de la escuela secundaria Phillips. Le encanta coleccionar rocas, conchas y plumas mientras cuida las maravillas de la naturaleza. También le gusta leer, viajar, dibujar y pintar. Vive en Chapel Hill, Carolina del Norte, con su hermano Joel y sus padres, Dalia y Miguel. ¡En casa sólo habla español!
