Wo Arbeitslosigkeit zur Dauererscheining oder -bedrohung flir breitere gesell- schaftliche Schichten zu werden droht, riicken die psychischen Konsequenzen gegenUber den materiellen Auswirkungen in den Vordergrund. Die Bundesan- stalt flir Arbeit in NUrnberg erwagt den verstarkten Einsatz von Psychologen in den Arbeitsiimtern, psychologische Fachverbande, die im psychosozialen Bereich tiitige Psychologen vertreten, artikulieren zum ersten Mal in der Nachkriegsge- schichte ihre Besorgnis Uber die gravierenden Folgen, die Arbeitsplatzverlust fUr die psychische Gesundheit der Betroffenen hat. Eine Psychologie, welche dem Anspruch gesellschaftlicher NUtzlichkeit gerecht werden will, wird nicht umhin kommen, dieses zentrale gesellschaftliche Problem in ihre einzelwissen- schaftlichen Fragestellungen miteinzubeziehen. Dieses Buch ist aus einem gemeinsamen Seminar der beiden Herausgeber am Psychologischen Institut der Universitat MUnster im Sommersemester 1977 zum Thema "Psychische Auswirkungen von Arbeitslosigkeit" hervorgegangen. Beide Autoren verantworten gemeinsam vollinhaltlich sowohl die Herausgabe als auch die Abfassung ihres Originalbeitrages. Wir danken an dieser Stelle allen, die am Zustandekommen dieses Buches beteiligt waren, neb en den weiteren Autoren sind dies Doris Pasch und Marga- rete Robermann, die das Schreiben der Druckvorlage besorgten und Klaus Franck, der die Abbildungen anfertigte.
