Wer heute iiber Arbeitslehre schreibt, sollte seine Motivation und Legitimation offenlegen, dam it deutlich wird, welchen Sinn solche Arbeit haben kann und wie sie selbst gesehen werden mochte. Der Verfasser versteht sich in der Tradition der Politischen Wirt- schaftslehre/Politischen konomie, wie sie von Gert von Eynern am Otto-Suhr-Institut der Freien Universitlit begriindet wurde (vgl. Eynern, 1972 und Eynern, 1973). Das Konzept der Politischen Wirtschaftslehre enthielt den Versuch, den klassischen Zusammen- hang von Wirtschaft, Gesellschaft und Politik im Rahmen eines sozialwissenschaftlichen Studiums lebendig zu erhalten bzw. wieder lebendig zu Machen. Es ging darum, die politischen Voraussetzun- gen und Folgen wirtschaftlicher Entscheidungen und die wirtschaft- lichen Voraussetzungen und Folgen politischer Entscheidungen herauszuarbeiten und bewuBt zu Machen. Es ging darum, die eng- stirnigen Flichergrenzen in der Wissenschaft zu iiberwinden, sozial- historisches Denken zu schulen, sozialstrukturelle Analyse zu pflegen und die Probleme der gesellschaftlichen Zielsetzungen nicht aus den Augen zu verlieren (vgl. Interdependenzen, 1967). Kernstiick dieses Ansatzes war die Analyse von Interdependenzen zwischen den im liberalistischen Sinn getrennt betrachteten Kernbereichen der Gesellschaft: Wirtschaft und Politik. Einer der Faktoren, warum sich der Verfasser im vorliegenden Buch der Arbeitslehre zugewandt hat, ist die Tatsache, daB kaum in einem anderen Fach dieser Interdependenzgedanke so zentral ist wie in der Arbeitslehre.
