Vor allem im schulischen Bereich wird der grö te Anteil der Informationen und Lerninhalte über den auditiven Kanal mitgeteilt. Der Schulerfolg hängt also wesentlich davon ab, inwieweit ein Kind in der Lage ist, diese Informationen zu verarbeiten und in seinen Wissensbestand zu integrieren. Leidet ein Kind unter auditiven Wahrnehmungsstörungen, ist die vollständige Informationsaufnahme nicht mehr gewährleistet. Werden auditive Informationen nicht vollständig und nur fragmentiert aufgenommen und zudem nicht differenziert ausgewertet, hat dies unmittelbare Auswirkungen auf den Lernerfolg. Vor allem die Kulturtechniken Lesen und Schreiben sind in hohem Ma e von der Qualität unserer auditiven Wahrnehmung abhängig. Nach dem heutigen Stand der Wissenschaft ist Legasthenie nachgewiesener Ma en als Folge von auditiven Wahrnehmungsstörungen zu verstehen. Auch andere Bereiche des schulischen Lebens und Lernens sind von der auditiven Wahrnehmung abhängig, wie Aufmerksamkeitsniveau, Konzentrationsvermögen und Motivation. Störungen der auditiven Wahrnehmung haben des Weiteren Einfluss auf Mitarbeit und Verhalten, das allgemeine Lern- und Leistungsvermögen, auf die Emotionalität und die soziale Einbindung in die Klasse. Während es zur Korrelation von Legasthenie und auditiven Wahrnehmungsstörungen bereits zahlreiche Studien und Befunde gibt, sind empirische Befunde zu anderen schulrelevanten Bereichen kaum oder nicht vorhanden. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, auditive Wahrnehmungsstörungen im Hinblick auf ihre Auswirkungen in o.g. schulrelevanten Bereichen zu untersuchen.
