Es war dem Menschen verboten, nach den Sternen zu trachten. Der Himmel und die Sterne standen für Dinge, welche sich dem menschlichen Verständnis entziehen. Sie waren lange Zeit Sinnbild für das Übernatürliche, für Götter. Ob Ikarus, der zur Sonne fliegen wollte und auf dem Weg verbrannte oder Luzifer, der als Zeichen seiner Verbannung als brennender Stern zur Erde stürzte: Beide Figuren stehen mit dem übermenschlichen Reich der Sterne und des Himmels in Verbindung. In den letzten Jahrzehnten ist das Interesse am Weltall und besonders an Weltraumreisen erneut gewachsen. Unternehmer und Visionäre wie Jeff Besos und Elon Musk haben Millionen Dollar in private Raumfahrtunternehmen investiert. Nach der doch eher beachtlichen Pause zwischen der ersten Mondlandung und den Gründungen von "Blue Origin" und "SpaceX" stellt sich die Frage, was den Menschen immer wieder dazu führt, zu den Sternen zu reisen. Hat die moderne Weltraumfahrt in Form von Infrastruktur Auswirkungen auf die Anthropologie des Menschen? Um dieser Frage nachgehen zu können, bedarf es zunächst einer Klärung der Begrifflichkeiten Anthropologie sowie Infrastruktur. Darüber hinaus muss aufgezeigt werden, welchen Stellenwert diese Begriffe in der Moderne haben und in welcher Beziehung sie zueinanderstehen. Um dem nachzugehen, steht die Anthropologie Plessners im Vordergrund, welcher den Menschen klar von anderen belebten Organismen abgrenzt und erklärt, warum er dafür prädestiniert ist, das Weltall zu bereisen. Dafür wird erörtert, warum der Mensch ein künstliches Lebewesen ist und wie sich diese Eigenheit auf seine Natur auswirkt. Darüber hinaus werden zwei Zukunftsvisionen der Rau
