Au erdem haben TV-Serien mittlerweile eingeschworene Fangemeinden, die mit gro en Hollywood-Produktionen mithalten können und einen riesigen Einfluss auf die (Pop)kultur. Der Hype um viele TV-Sendungen wird auf Social-Media-Kanälen weiter ausgelebt und verstärkt. Eine TV-Serie, die in den letzten Jahren unbestritten als Highlight des Quality-TV gefeiert wurde, ist "True Detective" (Pizzolatto, 2014). Das TV-Krimidrama sicherte sich schnell Lob. Besonders die erste Staffel von "True Detective" wurde nach ihrer Ausstrahlung von Kritikern und Publikum für Plot, Drehbuch und die schauspielerischen Leistungen der Hauptdarsteller Matthew McConaughey und Woody Harrelson gefeiert.
