Professor Sir John Baker is the Downing Professor of the Laws of England and Fellow of St Catharine's College, Cambridge. Knighted for his services to legal history in 2003, he has published widely on the subject, including An Introduction to Legal History (4th edition, OUP, 2002), The Oxford History of the Laws of England Volume VI (OUP, 2003) and The Law's Two Bodies (OUP, 2001).
