About the Author

Dr B. S. Nagoba, MSc (Med), PhD (Med), is Assistant Dean and Professor of Microbiology at MIMSR Medical College, Latur, Maharashtra. He is a passionate teacher with more than 36 years of experience in teaching MBBS, BDS, BPTh, BSc Nursing, MD, and PhD students. He has authored/edited 20 books and published 210 papers (94 in prestigious international journals). He is a member of the editorial boards of 10 international and seven national journals, and a reviewer for 115 international and 20 national journals. He is an eminent academician and has delivered speeches in many national and international conferences. He was the President of the Maharashtra Chapter of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists in the year 1999–2000. He is the first Indian featured on the cover page of a prestigious international journal World Journal of Virology published in the USA. Dr Nagoba has been awarded 10 international, 2 national, and 12 state level awards for his academic and research achievements. He has been adjudged as the “Best Teacher” by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. He is the recipient of the international “JWC Innovation Award (UK)” for his innovative work on wound infections. His areas of interest include immunology, clinical microbiology, mycology, parasitology, and medical education technology amongst others.
