The Batavian Anthology, also known as Specimens of the Dutch Poets, is a literary work by John Bowring. Published in 1824, it is a collection of poems written by Dutch poets from the early Middle Ages to the end of the seventeenth century. The book also includes critical remarks on the poetic literature and language of the Netherlands during this period. The anthology is divided into five parts, each covering a different era in Dutch literature. The first part includes poems from the early Middle Ages, such as the famous Beowulf.
