Es baut die Konstruk- tionen folgerichtig auf und regt zum Nachdenken und Konstruieren an. Allgemeine statische Er6rterungen sind nur insoweit aufgenommen, als sie zum Verstandnis der besonderen Eigenart der Fertigbetonbauweise notwendig sind. Leitsatz dieses Lehrbuches ist daher: Erst konstruieren, dann berechnen. Zunachst muB der Ingenieur wissen, wie und mit welchen Hilfsmitteln er ein Bauwerk ausfiihren kann, erst dann solI er an die Berechnung herangehen. Fiir ein eingehenderes Studium ist in zahlreichen Anmerkungen auf die einschlagigen Druckwerke hin- gewiesen worden. Beton- und Stahlbetonfertigteile haben im Bauwesen bereits eine umfassendere Verbreitung gefunden, als man gemeinhin annimmt, und es erscheint angezeigt, das ganze Sondergebiet der Fertigbetonbauweise zu erfassen, zu umgrenzen und systematisch zu zergliedern. Die Syste- matik nimmt daher pinen breiten Raum ein, soIl aber keineswegs den vorliegenden Stoff in einen starren Rahmen zwangen, sondern, ohne auf die ordnende Hand zu verziehten, auch die vielfachen Uberschnei- dungen und Verflechtungen der einzelnen Wissenszweige und die Aus- strahlungen in die Grenzgebiete aufzeigen.
