Jill McCabe Johnson's debut poetry collection, Diary of the One Swelling Sea (MoonPath Press, 2013), won the 2014 Nautilus Book Awards Silver Prize in Poetry. She is the series editor of the Being What Makes You anthology series from the University of Nebraska Gender Programs, publishing essays and poems across the full spectrum of gender experience. Jill earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Pacific Lutheran University and her Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska, where she was the Louise Van Sickle Fellow in Poetry. The founding director of Artsmith, a non-profit to support the arts, Jill makes her home with her husband on an island in the Salish Sea.
