Soziale Arbeit mit Familien zielt auf die Wiederherstellung bzw. Stärkung der familiären Erziehungs- und Sorgeleistung ab, die zum Beispiel angesichts von Konflikten und sozialen Problemen aus Sicht von Familienmitgliedern und/ oder Sozialarbeitern nur ungenügend erbracht werden. Soziale Arbeit wird im Rahmen von Organisationen geleistet und basiert auf rechtlichen Regelungen bzw. wird durch diese ermöglicht." Gerade beim Thema 'Hochkonflikt', einem Phänomen, das in den letzten zwei Dekaden auch in Deutschland immer mehr Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zieht, sind diese Ziele der sozialen Arbeit gefragt: Die hochstrittige Klientel stellt besondere Anforderungenan Berater, Institutionen und Familien. Wie aber soll die Sozialarbeit mit diesem relativ neuen Phänomen, das in seiner destruktiven Dynamik weitreichende Folgen vor allem für die Kinder nach sich zieht, umgehen? In der vorliegenden Arbeit soll dieser Frage nachgegangen werden. Dazu wird einleitend ein Überblick über die gesellschaftlichen Gründe für die moderne Entwicklung von Trennungen und Scheidungen sowie deren Verlauf und Konsequenzen gegeben, um anschlie end die Entstehung von Hochkonflikt zu erläutern. Durch Definitionen und ausgewählte Theorien soll veranschaulicht werden, wie Hochkonflikt (abweichend vom normalen Trennungsprozess) entstehen kann.
