Da nichts so praxisnah ist wie eine zutreffende Theorie, steht der Tunnelbau- ingenieur vor der Aufgabe, die fiir die NOT charakteristischen Grundsatze in ein zutreffendes Entwurfsmodell zu iibersetzen. Aus der Reflexion iiber die grundsatz- lichen Ziele eines die Erfahrungen und die Messungen erganzenden rechnerischen Standsicherheitsnachweises lassen sich die Anforderungen an ein solches Berechnungs- modell ableiten. Dabei muB u. a. auch zwischen Gebrauchszustand (was gemessen werden kann) und Grenztragfahigkeitszustand (was in-situ nicht gemessen werden kann) unterschieden werden.
