Diese Studie ist das Ergebnis einer langen Beschiiftigung mit einem Fragenkreis, auf den ich stief3, als mir mein verehrter Doktor- vater Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Karl ROme Mitte der 50er Jahre empfahl, als Thema fUr den Habilitationsvo rt rag "etwas ganz N eues" zu suchen {da - wie er meinte - die Herren der Fakultiit dariiber dann nicht allzuviel mehr wissen konnten als ich}: So verfiel ich auf den sog. Kapazitiit serweiterungs-Effekt { 1}, ein damal s brandneues und aktuell diskutiertes Gebiet der Betriebswirtschaftslehre. Seither habe ich mich immer wieder damit befaf3t; nunmehr behandle ich das Thema geschlossen, da es mir zu einem gewissen - zumindest prinzipiellen - Abschlul3 gelangt zu sein scheint. Urspriinglich war die Studie so konzipiert, daf3 in einem eigenen Literaturteil die Entwicklung des Kapazitiitserweiterungs-Effektes durch die einzelnen Autoren selbst lebendig werden sollte, wobei mir vorschwebte, die vorwiegend in kurzen Artikeln oder auch Ab- schnitten verstreute Literatur in einem Buch in Originaltexten zu- sammenzufassen. Herr Dr. H. Sellien {2} yom Dr. Gabler Verlag in Wiesbaden hat mich davon iiberzeugt, daf3 diese 100 Seiten doch wohl iiberschrei- tende Literaturdarstellung einen zahlenmiif3ig nur ganz geringen Kreis jener Leser interessieren wiirde, denich ansprechen mochte: Wissenschaftler und Wirtschaftstheoretiker niimlich, die jedoch ohnehin die Literatur weitgehend kennen, andernfalls aber bereit sind, sich des vorliegenden Literaturverzeich- nisses von Fall zu Fall zu bedienen; ich habe versucht, es {fiirdiedeutschsprachige Literatur} auf das direkt zum The- rna Gesagte bzw. Geschriebene zu beschriinken.
