Matthias Christel, Jg. 1981, studierte Sport und Mathematik für das Lehramt an Gymnasien in Hannover. 1992 trat er dem Kinderzirkus Rastellino in Lingen (Ems) bei und erlernte vielfältige Bewegungskünste. 1997 gehörte er zur ersten Gruppe des Niedersächsischen Jugendzirkus "Circ' A Holix" (seit 2000 im Leitungsteam). In den vielen Jahren hat er unzählige Auftritte und internationale Erfahrungen gemacht u.a. drei europ. Zirkuscamps, Austausche, Auftritte in Polen, Frankreich, Italien, Spanien, USA, Marokko und Indien. Er war für div. zirkuspädagogische Projekte verantwortlich, gab Workshops, half bei Mitspielaktionen, betreute Ferienpassangebote und war Trainer beim Kinderzirkus Bunttropfen und für das CircO - Netzwerk für Zirkuskünste in Hannover. Im Nds. Jugendzirkus organisierte er neben Auftritten auch intern. Begegnungen. 2006 berief ihn die BKJ dafür zum Jugendvertreter Kultur in den Verwaltungsbeirat des DFJW. Er erlebte die Gründung (1994) und Entwicklung der LAG Zirkus Nds./HB (seit 2002 im Vorstand) und half 2005 bei der Gründung der BAG Zirkuspädagogik und des europ. "Network of International Circus Exchange". Ab 2009 absolviert er ein Referendariat in Niedersachsen.
